James’s Story

In February of 2018, a car accident took James’s right leg. He had to relearn everything: how to walk, how to live, and how to find happiness. James struggled to understand the purpose of that accident.

It took him two and a half years, going through depression, suicidal thoughts, prescription medications, self-medication, therapists, and psychiatrists, to reach his AHA moment. He believes what gave him hope through all of it was his mobility aids. The feeling of loneliness he experienced in bed was quickly dissipated by a simple trip to the grocery store.

James started with a walker, then a wheelchair, to a prosthetic leg, to a cane, and eventually a running blade. He recognizes he was fortunate to have insurance to help offset some of the cost of buying these devices. James wanted people like him to have easier access to these life-changing devices. So, he founded QOL Group as a means to help differently abled people everywhere.
